Nocturnal Interview 129 with DJ Shah

[Katie - Nocturnal] When I listen to your music its full of this melodic & summery feel. What is your favourite summer track of all time?
[DJ Shah] Hard to choose, because there are so many great tunes, but when i have to announce one i would say it’s Oakenfold - Southern Sun (Tiesto / Gabriel & Dresden mix)

[Katie - Nocturnal] With music of such beauty does it reflect who you are as a person?
[DJ Shah] I’m not a beauty, haha, but i’m an emotional person and love to compose melodies and give other people a smile.

[Katie - Nocturnal] What was the best piece of advice your mother ever gave you?
[DJ Shah] To be always honest.

[Katie - Nocturnal] What was the most embarrassing thing your mum has ever done to you?
[DJ Shah] Hmm, can’t say at the moment

[Katie - Nocturnal] Do you break hearts or do they break yours?
[DJ Shah] I try to break no hearts.

[Katie - Nocturnal] Worst habit?
[DJ Shah] To work too much

[Katie - Nocturnal] Cheekiest thing you ever did to a friends back?
[DJ Shah] To tell a friend that the voice of my navigation is a girl who is sitting in an office with a map and she tells me. Where i have to drive and he believed it.

[Katie - Nocturnal] Most rebelious thing you did as a child?
[DJ Shah] I was a nice child

[Katie - Nocturnal] Is there anyone else in your family that makes music at all if so who and what?
[DJ Shah] My brother pedro is also a dj and doing our labels and my business stuff.

[Katie - Nocturnal] You have a very popular radio show you do with Pedro Del Mar called “Mellomania” How do you find with so much competition out there, you keep it standing out from the rest?
[DJ Shah] Because we are searching for track with the most beautiful melodies or vocals, we don’t play harder or more clubby tracks. i also know that a lot of older people who are not involved into edm are listening to our show.

[Katie - Nocturnal] Do you have any funny regular callers or even any stalkers in your time as an artist?
[DJ Shah] Yes, sometimes..

[Katie - Nocturnal] I have heard we can be listening out for a new artist album. What are some influences you have used when producing this up and coming new album?
[DJ Shah] You can expect not only one album. You can expect my DJ Shah solo album which will be a tripple cd concept, a new sunlounger album and also a mix album. So there are many things to come this year. I got my influences during my gigs and travelling and also from the different vocalists. I worked with 13 different artist from all over the world so there are many different influences.

[Katie - Nocturnal] A new year for new music! Are there any new names we listen out for?
[DJ Shah] So everyday are new names coming to our scene, we just have to look for the quality in music and when new names can deliver it, they are always welcome:-)
